Dairy Women Ireland’s Autumn Series: Dairy Innovation with Glenilen Farm
On Thursday, September 26th, Dairy Women Ireland (DWI) hosted an exciting event at Glenilen Farm in Drimoleague, West Cork. This gathering was open to both members and non-members, and it provided a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the inspiring story of Glenilen Farm and its commitment to dairy innovation.
The morning kicked off at 11:00 am with a warm welcome from DWI regional leader ship team member, Vicky Beamish. Attendees enjoyed a delightful visit to the farm’s café, where they could sample some of Glenilen’s delicious yoghurts. Afterward, we took a behind-the-scenes tour of the production floor, offering a perfect view of the yoghurt plant and a chance to see the various equipment, processes, and products that make Glenilen so special.
Valerie Kingston, the driving force behind Glenilen Farm, shared her insights during an informative talk. She took us through the journey of Glenilen Farm and how they have achieved their current success. The discussions were engaging and offered valuable lessons for all who attended.
This event not only highlighted the innovative practices at Glenilen Farm but also fostered connections among the women in the farming community. It was a great opportunity to meet and chat with other passionate individuals involved in the industry.
A big thank you to our South Munster Regional team for organizing such a fantastic event! We look forward to more inspiring gatherings in the future. To learn more about Dairy Women Ireland, including upcoming events and our national conference, visit our website at www.dairywomenireland.ie.
